Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner, Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit, has designed a unique keycase to mark the 100th anniversary of Bentley. It is constructed of Dark Stained Burr Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes an eagle-like "B" paperweight keys, as well as an unreleased booklet with 1930s 8 Litre images.

This is a great way to welcome a new car owner.

Aesthetics

Bentley is a brand who takes its aesthetics seriously. This is evident in the precise positioning of its quilting and the use of leather made from leftovers from cattle and sustainable-managed forests, and the unique patterns of its levers. As you approach a car like the Continental GT W12, its sculptural beauty is displayed through carefully curated lighting.

The Continental GT is Bentley's most sophisticated open-top car. Its rear tonneau, for example, showcased the largest piece of book-matched, dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to an actual production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

Bentley is the most sought-after automobile brand globally due to its distinctive design and workmanship. The firm continues to push the boundaries by utilizing the most advanced technology and craft, including the introduction of a digital instrument cluster as well as an electric tilt-opening rear glass sunroof, an artisan-made docking station for Apple iPads, and electrochromic "smart" glass that can be switched from opaque to transparent with the push of an arrow.

Bentley celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019 100 years after it was founded. The marque, now owned by Volkswagen alone following years of tense relations with BMW and BMW, had planned a series of special events and launches to commemorate this significant occasion. Prior to the pandemic plan taking place, the marque had a range of special events and launches planned to mark the occasion.

Design

Bentley is a luxury car manufacturer that produces lavish and extravagant cars. But even the keys make a statement. The Bentayga Key is constructed of sterling silver and features a large B' symbol to signal to everyone that you're a Bentley. It's also engraved with the years 1919 and 2019 to celebrate the company's centenary.

bentley continental key fob  redesigned and developed the Mulsanne to become the ultimate Grand Touring vehicle. It has two opposing pairs of rear seats that are inspired by the luxury of private aviation, providing passengers with unparalleled comfort and privacy. A customized heating, air conditioning and ventilation system has been designed to ensure that every passenger has the perfect climate control setting.

The Mulsanne comes with a twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine with 560bhp, and 479lb-ft of torque. This power is paired with a new suspension that provides Bentley's trademark quiet ride.

Bentley has announced a special specification for cars built after 2019 to celebrate its centenary. This is known as the Centenary Specification. The cabin has cross-stitching, and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are stitched in Centenary Gold, adding to the sense of celebration. The Centenary Specification also includes a custom Bentley keycase to complete the Bentley experience.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne key comes with an open button on the trunk and a second button that starts the car. It also has a switch to activate the parking break. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors while parking in a tight area. This feature helps you get into and out of your car.

The key is made of vegetable tanned leather. It takes over two days to craft each one. It is hand cut to shape, sewn sealed and polished to create a high-quality finish. It is durable and compact, and will fit the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar with the Volkswagen Phaeton's large car key, however it feels more heavy and luxurious.

Secure-A-Key is also included to protect against keyless entry theft. The device is placed inside the remote-control key fob and disables it after a few minutes of inactivity. This stops thieves from transmitting the frequency of the key to other devices which can unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's unique design is a reflection of the values of the company that include fine craftsmanship engineering expertise and cutting-edge technology. Over 4,000 employees work at the Crewe headquarters, responsible for the design, development, and production of Bentley cars. These workers apply the skills that have been passed through generations to modern automotive technologies. This is British manufacturing at its finest.

Personalisation

Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to create their own vehicle. The "mood station" allows customers to choose images that inspire them. These can be anything from stunning views to sporting events. As each selection is made, a pattern appears which shows the models and colors of the custom Bentley.

The guests receive keys made by hand that contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. Keys are also equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that illuminate the door's opening pathway with the owner's name or emblem as they make their way towards the vehicle.

Bentley claims it takes about 500 man hours to design and assemble the average Mulsanne. The inability to adopt modern technology is the key to this time-consuming task. Instead of making use of a machine to space the perfectly matched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Instead of letting the car's built-in sensors guide it to perpendicular and parallel parking spots drivers must do it manually.

Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization skills with a special Mulsanne W.O. Edition, that pays tribute to William Osler, the founder of Bentley. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to founder William Osler Bentley. The limited edition cars include a key that displays an original 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
